Flowers!

I've been sewing a lot of dresses recently.  A lot.  I need to catch up!  This is one of my more recent ones.

Bright floral dress

Pattern: Simplicity 2999
Fabric: From the Sole collection by Valori Wells
Time to Sew: June 13 -15

I bought this fabric when I was in Atlanta in March. It's so bright and happy.  Of course, that makes for a very noticeable dress, to say the least.  As a (now former) co-worker said, it's like my dress is screaming "Flowers!"  I can handle it, though.

I really enjoyed this pattern.  It was fairly simple to sew, and I liked the little details it used.  The V neckline (with a bit of modesty) is very nice, and the ruching at the shoulders is also a little different.  And of course I love the pockets!

I'm thinking about making a dress someday with this bodice and a fuller skirt.  Or maybe this pattern in some fancy fabric for a more formal event... we'll see!

That is great! A really flattering fit!

It is a really nice cut! Very pretty!

Love it! I think it screams retro more than flowers!

Cute!

You work it girl! I love the fabric and the pattern! There is no beter dress than a super flowery super bright summer dress.

So awesome! That fabric may be shouting "Flowers," but it's shouting really, really happily. Also, you're totally rocking the supermodel 'tude in that first picture. You go on with your bad self.

How sweet - and I love that it is screaming flowers - great analogy!:) It is gorgeous on you too!

Oooh, I like it! It looks very well tailored to fit you well too! Good work, K!

Cute flower power!
