Steeked

Today I finished the knitting for my Sorta-Deep V Argyle Vest, and it was ready for steeking!

Ready for steeking

Since the crochet-reinforcement option did not work so well with superwash wool, I went ahead with a machine-reinforced steek.  It's hard to see the machine stitches here because the teal thread matches the yarn so well.

Reinforced

After I cut it apart (David even helped a little bit), I connected the shoulders and tried it on.  Whew, it fit.

It fits

I've started on the neckline ribbing, and I hope I'll be able to have it all finished up soon!

Wow looking good!

Yay for successful steeks!

Yay, I'm glad the steeking worked out and it fits! I can't wait to see it all finished up.

That is just going to look amazing on you!! I really like your brown socks, too!

It's looking good!

Wow, you don't sound scared about steeking at all! It's amazing to see how the v-neck opens right up like that--very cool before and after photos.

that is a perfect match - i had to look really hard to find the stitching!

Hooray for a successful foray into steek-land! Can I tell you again how much I love those colors?

Yay for successful steeks! Still loving that color combination too!
