Good News #1: I got to start my sweater using my beet yarn.
Good News #2: I love the design elements so far.
Good News #3: My sweater is knitting up to exactly the same gauge as my swatch.
Bad News #1: I mis-measured my gauge to be 3.25 stitches per inch, when in actuality it is 4.25 stitches per inch.
Good News #4: At least I thought about this at about 6 inches in, which didn't take very long because I'm about 40 stitches short of what I really need to be knitting.
I'm getting stressed out about our (second, big) wedding. Is it obvious?
PS. The second mitt was corrected, and the pair awaits blocking. At least that got finished without any other screwups!

The yarn fabric is gorgeous! Sorry it is creating more stress for you - in the end you just know everything will be fine, right? It will, I promise!

The fabric you're creating looks fantastic, even if you weren't creating enough of it!
Good luck with the wedding!

OH NO!!! At least you caught it early on and not when you were further in!!!

Well it looks fantastic and at least you caught it early! Just think, you can't knit two "right" sweaters at least. ;)

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Now rip!!!

Oh, I'm so happy you corrected those mitts because they are delightfully gorgeous!
I'm sure the wedding jitters are perfectly normal, and everything will turn out beautifully.

Gauge is a cruel and unforgiving mistress!

I just did one of those gauge things - only the other way round. Figured out about 4 inches in that I was making a heavily cabled... tent. Designing during the flu was probably not an especially good idea.

If there were any justice in this world, our knitting would get *easier* the more stressed out we were. Alas, it really doesn't seem to work that way. Hang in there - all the stress will be well worth it, come wedding day!

Stress = sock knitting. Can't screw it up. :) Hang in there!

Say the word and I'll send you my stuffed frog, Bruce. :)

It looks great. Glad you caught the issue early. And, hey, it just means you get to knit even longer with your beet yarn.

Well, it looks very pretty, and you did catch it early.
I hope plans for the big wedding smooth out!

At least it's more good news than bad, right? Hope you're not too stressed!

Oh, six inches, that isn't so bad, you can totally rip that out. Imagine me saying that with a straight face. At least the knitted fabric is gorgeous.
