Since I started knitting about 15 months ago, I've knitted various items for my boyfriend. He wears them with pride.
Pattern: Andean Cap with Earflaps from Hats On!
Yarn: Karabella Aurora 8
Needles: Size 6 DPNs
Pattern: My own, based loosely on the Jaywalker stitch pattern
Yarn: Sundara sportweight merino in Drunken Plum
Needles: Size 2
Pattern: Based loosely on Brooklyn Tweed's The Scholar Collar
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Superchunky
Needles: Size 11
But now, I'm considering making him something like this. Or maybe this.
Why?* Because now I'm wearing this.
*For those of you who have no idea what I'm referring to, please read this. It explains a popular knitters myth.

I was going to say the belt is ingenious. (OK I just did.) BUT, the ring, oh the ring is wonderful. Congratulations! I'm not a diamond kinda grrl so I really think you did well;-)

Wow, the ring. The ring is lurvely. I am totally green with envy. I am also not a huge diamond girl...
Now go make that boy a sweater!

Holy crap! Congratulations!
At the beginning of your post I was all, "Hold up, you've only been knitting for 15 months???!!? You're crazy talented!"
But then you just went and topped that, didn't you?
The ring is beautiful! Congrats again.

Congratulations! Such a beautiful, beautiful ring! I love colored stones (my ring is a central yellow sapphire flanked by extra light blue sapphires for a sun in the sky effect). He definitely deserves a sweater!! Maybe more than one!
The belt is ingenious. I have to agree with Jean above on the whole "You've only been knitting for 15 months!?!" You are one of those blessed "visual" thinkers. I can play symphonies in my head. That, however, does not help with knitting.
Congratulations, again! I wish you very happy.

I love knitting with Karabella Aurora 8. So soft! The belt is cute and NICE yarn, too.
Congratulations!!!

OH! What a gorgeous ring! Congrats, to him, for landing such a thoughtful fiancee and fine knitter!
And I love the belt, too. Not being a "visual" knitter, could you give a few pointers on how you did that?

GASP! Is that an... engagement ring?? So lovely!! And yes, he CERTAINLY deserves lots and LOTS of sweaters! Lots! And lots!

The knitting is awesome but the ring...well... that defies all but one word... Congratulations!! He seems like a fine boy who is definitely deserving of a sweater. :)

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a purple sapphire! But after visiting about ten places in NYC and spending several hours online, I went to the jewelry store a few blocks away and in just a couple of minutes found the perfect ring!
